How to look for signs of windstorm to you shingles before it happens. Often you will see the shingle tabs start to lift before they get torn off. Sometimes this is because the nails may have come loose because the plywood is weak or the nails have punctured thru the shingles during the install. As the winds pick up you may notice the tiles flapping in the wind.

If you see that its time to do some preventive maintenance by nailing the shingles and applying some tar under the flaps to prevent them from coming off.
